The 2010 7th Annual Boat Building Festival- In this popular annual fundraiser, families, friends and co-workers experience hands-on boat building with the help of professional boat builders. Over two-and-a-half days, 20 teams of five people each build a 12-foot Bevins Skiff under a tent in Monument Square. NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY. Registration fees cover all tools, materials and professional instruction. After an exciting launch celebration at East End Beach, teams return home with their very own skiff.

At the 2008 Festival, corporate boatbuilding crews hailed from Dead River Company, Harborview Investments, and Spinnaker Trust.

Businesses sponsored crews from the following youth groups: Boys and Girls Club (Spinnaker Trust); Camp Susan Curtis (Dead River Company); Girls, Inc. and Youth Alternatives, Heritage House (Pierce Atwood); Youth Alternatives, Perry's Place (Macdonald Page).
